BabyWatch 10-3-06

I'm sorry to say there's not much to report. We thought we were close Sunday night. We really thought she was coming on her actual due date. I was having strong, regular contractions all night long...9pm 'til 4am...then, they got irregular again. Mike took the day off thinking it would start up again, but it didn't. We tried to get them started...went to RWJ in Hamilton to pick up an operative report from Maddi's C-section there that my midwives need at Princeton, went to Babies R Us and walked around, took Maddi (off from school for Yom Kippur) to Washington Crossing Park and walked for an hour or two while she rode her bike. None of the activities helped jump-start labor. The contractions started again last night around 6 and lasted until about 9, then stopped. I know she'll come soon...when *she's* ready, but I'm getting a little tired of her teasing us like this.

Madison seemed upset this morning. She said to me, "So, the baby didn't come last night." We talked about it for a little bit. She's worried the baby won't come for another month. (lol) I assured her she'd come sooner than that. I think she's a bit frustrated, too. Oh well...seems this baby is giving all of us (Mike, Maddi and me) a much-needed lesson in patience. I'm sure it won't be our last. :)

Sorry you are frustrated - I think she wants to wait until Friday the 13th...

ohmigod kalen was almost born on friday the 13th. no lie, her head was like half way out. almost to her neck? (which as we know is when it gets a tad easier to pass the football so to speak...) and the mid-wife looked up and said, "oh look at that. looks like we're gonna have a friday the 13th baby".....i heard that and i sucked her back in. swear to god, ask tom. i actually felt her go back up too....waited a few minutes more, and the i started pushing again. :) she was finally out at 12:14am sept. 14, 1991. ;)

so...what's the wiccan school of thought on friday the 13th babes?

this one's just for miss maddi--

hey madison! april the chicken lady here...

i just wanted to tell you something that may help you wait for your new sister. when we have eggs hatch? sometimes? the chicks beak cracks thru the egg an we get all excited cuz it's almost ready to be born? and then we wait. and wait. and watch. and wait and wait. and then we get bored and tired of waiting. so we do something else that's way more fun than watching a dumb egg just sit there? (or the momma hen just sitting there watching us!) and before you know it, the chick starts pecking their way out again and voyla! it wiggles itself out of the shell and is finally born.

i'm thinking that's what your sister is doing. teasing you and making you think it's time for her to come out? and then just changing her mind again. grrrrrrr. she's not even born yet and already she's a chick! :)

maybe you should start an arts and crafts project for the baby's room or something? that will take your mind off the waiting part. how bout a mobile for her crib? something shiny or bright that she can look at. she'll be here soon tho. i can just feel it in me bones!!

good luck big sister. :) it won't be long now!

She'll come out when she's good-n-ready. Her mam was late by 10 days and so was her uncle. MAybe she'll be a 10 pounder!!!!!!!

i'm guessing 10/8 @ 9.9 lbs & 23 inches.
